A female in a wheelchair was hit by an oncoming vehicle on Loop Road near the Newman Center and Centennial Court E shortly after 9 p.m.Thursday.

She was taken by ambulance to Robinson Memorial Hospital, according to the Kent Fire Department. The female’s name and condition have not been released.

The car was driving on Loop Road toward Main Street and the female was going toward Centennial Court E when she was struck. There are no sidewalks along the road.

The name of the driver has not been released.
