Fender bender on Risman Drive leaves one hurt
March 14, 2011
A black Ford Explorer hit a red Toyota Corolla on Risman Drive Monday at 5 p.m. in a minor fender bender.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla received minor injuries as a result of the incident. Kent City Fire Department Capt. John Tosko said an ambulance took the injured driver to Robinson Memorial Hospital to be treated.
“It was just a fender bender to my knowledge,” Tosko said. “The red Toyota had damage in the rear and there was real minor damage to the front of the Ford.”
KSU Police Dispatcher Kathleen Wills said the case is still undergoing investigation. She said it is unknown whether either of the two drivers are Kent State students.
The City Service Towing & Auto Repair Co. towed away the Toyota after the incident. Justin Pinkston, employee of City Service Towing & Auto Repair, said both cars were still in decent driving conditions.
“Fender benders are especially common on college campuses,” Pinkston said. “Students may be concentrating on other things, so they won’t pay as much attention to the road.”
