Women’s basketball returns to the court to face Central Michigan Saturday

After a weeklong break, the Kent State women’s basketball team will travel to Central Michigan in search of its second-straight win to start a two-game road stretch on Saturday.

Kent State (16-6, 7-3 Mid-American Conference) defeated Western Michigan, 79-68, Saturday, prior to the seven-day break.

Central Michigan (15-7, 7-3 MAC) is riding a three-game winning streak over Ohio, Miami and Akron. The Chippewas have five players who average double-digit point totals per game.

Central Michigan’s balanced attack will be a substantial test for a Flashes defense, which has been spotty lately.

The Chippewas are averaging 83.4 points per game, while the Flashes average 67.5. Kent State holds opposing offenses to 59.5 points per game.

Taisja Jones, reigning MAC East player of the week, will need to continue her solid game play from last week when she averaged 26.5 points per game.

The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
