New KIC president hopes to spread word about organization
February 14, 2011
Andy Sokolich, junior pre-business management major, is the new president of Kent Interhall Council after its election on Tuesday.
A member of general council nominated Sokolich. He and the other three nominees were asked several questions by the KIC General Council and had an open discussion before voting. Sokolich was previously a member of Stopher-Johnson Hall Council. He was then a KIC office manager and vice president of programming and development.
Sokolich said he is excited about his new position and spreading the word about KIC.
“I think in partnering with departments on campus, we can get our name out there and that’s what I am going to be encouraging my executive board to do this year,” Sokolich said. “There is only so much we can do as an executive board so if we look to those outside organizations for help we can do more, get our name out there more, and get more people involved.”
