The 2010 Primary Elections may be over, but for those elected their jobs are just beginning. Newly elected Commissioner, Tommie-Jo Marsilio, is ready to take office and already has big plans for Portage County. TV-2 reporter, Heather Wells, has the story.

NATSOT: Applause

Commissioner-elect, Tommie Jo Marsilio, is preparing for her new job come January. She talks about what it was like to be elected county commissioner.

Tommie-Jo: “I THINK THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE MY RESPONSE IS HUMBLE. THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT, THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS RESPONSIBILITY THAT PEOPLE HAVE CHARGED ME WITH.”

NATSOT: “If I’m a commissioner, then these two tables up here are batman, so…”

Tommie-Jo spoke about what she plans to do, come January once she takes office and how she plans to better serve the people of Portage County.

Tommie-Jo: “IN GENERAL THAT MEANS WE HAVE TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT.”

President of the Portage County women’s Republican club, Jeneen Kubala is staying positive when it comes to campaigning for the upcoming 2012 election.

“WELL WE FEEL THIS IS DRESS REHEARSAL FOR 2012. WE’RE READY TO BUCKLE DOWN IN JANUARY 2011 AND THEN UH LOOK FORWARD TO 2012. “
