Fraternity uses pumpkin-themed games for fundraiser
October 21, 2010
Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity will be hosting its annual Pumpkin Bash on Saturday to raise money for the North American Food Drive. It will take place in the field across from Taco Bell next to the rock, starting at 1 p.m.
A $35 participation fee for all teams competing in the Pumpkin Bash will be donated to the food drive. Teams will be competing in a pumpkin-carving contest, bobbing for gourds, a pass-the-pumpkin relay and launching pumpkins for bonus points.
“The event is open to the public as well,” said Evan Volpe, external vice president for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. “Anyone can come and drop off donations and watch the contests.”
Every dollar donated goes toward the fraternity’s goal of donating 7,000 pounds of food and will be collected through Nov. 6.
