Hepburn film shows in Rockwell
October 12, 2010
Kent State students and surrounding community members have the opportunity to date Kate.
Katharine Hepburn’s 1933 film “Morning Glory” will be played in the Rockwell Hall museum from 6:30- 8:30 p.m. Students get in free, prices increasing to $4 for seniors and $5 for general admission.
The Kent State University Museum and the Women’s Studies Program present “Morning Glory” in a joint effort. Hepburn’s performance as a small town actress dreaming of Broadway won her an Academy Award for Best Actress. This was the first of four Oscars she was awarded in the category.
Museum consultant James Harris said he thinks many students know even more about classic movies than the older generation.
“Aside from being a damn good actress, Katharine Hepburn is a great role model,” Harris said. “She is number one among screen legends and the most admired woman for the last 40 to 50 years.”
