Kent’s church/music venue, The Vineyard Community Church, hosted the 2010 edition of the Do It Together (D.I.T.) Festival this past weekend. For two days, a variety of punk and indie bands piled into the small area to deliver sets of uncompromising musicianship while several poets read their work. Highlights of the festival included performances by Ohio’s own The Sidekicks and Defiance, Ohio and several out-of -state bands such as Pennsylvania’s Tigers Jaw. The event was free but collected donations for the out-of-state bands and the venue. The festival concluded with the announcement that it will be back in 2011.
