Campus robber sentenced
July 13, 2010
A man was sentenced last week to eight years in prison for robbing several Kent State students at knifepoint last summer.
Cedric Harden, 19, of Highland Heights, plead guilty in May to robbing three Kent State students last August along the Esplanade and near an apartment complex on Morris Road.
Portage County Common Pleas Judge Laurie Pittman sentenced Harden to serve two eight-year sentences on two counts of aggravated robbery, with the sentences being served at the same time as one another.
Benjamin Clevidence, 24, who used brass knuckles in the incident, was sentenced to four years in prison. The robbery left one student hospitalized at Robinson Memorial Hospital.
