KSU Health Services to provide swine flu vaccines for at-risk groups

University Health Services will provide free swine flu vaccines from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at Eastway Dining Room.
Anyone interested in receiving the vaccine must show proof of his or her Kent State affiliation and provide a Banner ID number.
According to a Flashline Message, vaccines will be given to members of the Kent State community who fit in the following categories:
&bull People 6 months old to 24 years old.
&bull Pregnant women.
&bull Caregivers and household contacts of infants under 6 months old.
&bull People 64 years old and younger with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease and/or other chronic health conditions that compromise the immune system.
&bull Health care and emergency medical services personnel with direct patient care.
To all members of the community, University Health Services will also offer a limited number of seasonal flu vaccines as a mist. Its cost is $12 for students and $20 for university employees. Kent State’s medical providers, Anthem and Medical Mutual, will cover in full the cost of the flu shot for those covered by their services.
Flu mist and injection doses will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
