The man who was arrested and charged with selling ecstasy inside a building at the Student Center is not a Kent State student, said university spokesman Tom Neumann.
The Portage County Drug Task Force arrested Teon L. Stallworth, 22, of Akron, on Tuesday.
According to a Drug Task Force press release, Stallworth sold 53 M.D.M.A. (ecstasy) pills to an undercover officer. Stallworth was arrested shortly after the sale occurred.
The pills had a street value of approximately $1,000, and officers also recovered an undisclosed amount of money on Stallworth.
Stallworth was charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs and taken to the Portage County Jail.
If convicted, Stallworth faces a maximum of eight years in prison. The charge is a second-degree felony.
Officers from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Portage County Drug Task Force in the arrest.
A preliminary hearing for Stallworth is scheduled for Oct. 23.
