David Harris to perform at Rathskeller
October 15, 2009
David Harris, an award-winning singer and songwriter, will serenade students at 9 p.m. tomorrow in the Rathskeller.
Harris has released more than six albums since 1992. The California native is now on a nationwide tour of college campuses.
His performing style has been compared to Paul Simon and Bob Dylan by Victory Music Magazine. Harris was also recognized at the 1998 Independent Artist of the Year by Performing Songwriter Magazine.
“I think (music lovers) will appreciate his skill and his versatility,” said Della Marshall, associate director for the Center for Student Involvement. “Not only with his voice but the instruments that he is able to play.”
Kent State Late Night is sponsoring the concert. Late Night is a joint effort of on-campus organizations to bring free events to Kent State. The coalition includes the Center for Student Involvement, Undergraduate Student Government and Kent Student Center Programming.
