Dix Stadium to host Flash Family Tailgate
Kent State parents will experience student life and spend time with their children during Parents’ Day tomorrow.
The annual event starts at 10 a.m., when the Student Recreation and Wellness Center opens at no cost to parents.
Other festivities throughout the day include ice-skating, a planetarium show and two viewings of the film “The Proposal.”

The Flash Family Tailgate Party will take place at Dix Stadium before the football game against Miami University. The barbecue is only for preregistered students and parents.
Parents can purchase tickets to the game at the stadium.
“If (parents) attend the tailgate barbecue dinner, (they will have) an opportunity to meet other Kent State families, as well as staff and administrators at Kent,” said Andrew Crawford, Undergraduate Studies coordinator.
Parents’ Day will also feature a new event at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. American Popstar allows students to become part of a music video, said Della Marshall associate director of Center for Student Involvement.
Parents’ Day is cosponsored by the Center for Student Involvement and Undergraduate Studies.
