Pat Book, vice president for regional development, will leave the university June 1. President Lester Lefton said she has accepted a position at the University of Northern Colorado as the assistant vice president for continuing education and academic outreach.

With the announcement of Book’s departure, Lefton said he plans to reorganize the regional development unit.

Lefton said Book’s cabinet level position will be eliminated, and her staff’s responsibilities will be reorganized under Iris Harvey, vice president of university relations.

Effective Thursday, a new unit called Marketing Research, Segmentation and Engagement Services was organized under Harvey.

The unit will primarily be concerned with marketing, Lefton said.

“She has been an enormous asset to the institution for the past five years with her work in regional economic development, distance learning, regional campuses and the minority business accelerator,” Lefton said. “Kent State’s loss is the University of Northern Colorado’s gain.”
