Physical therapy now offered in the rec center
March 8, 2009
University Health Services now offers physical therapy consultations at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.
“We’re really hoping by being in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center that more students become aware of the service,” physical therapist Todd Francis said. “There are roughly 3,000 students that go through the rec center each day, and that’s a lot of visibility.”
The new location at the rec center fitness suite opened Monday and is an addition to consultations already offered at the DeWeese Health Center.
“We’ve had a full schedule every day,” Francis said. “We’re having a good response.”
Physical therapy is only available to students, faculty and staff. The appointments can be billed to insurance, and there is no co-pay for Kent State students. Faculty and staff may owe co-pay depending on insurance coverage.
Before making an appointment, patients should meet with a physician to determine if physical therapy is necessary.
Consultations are offered from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday. To schedule an appointment call (330) 672-2098.
