A Student Legal Services clinic can help students dealing with a suspended license or criminal record today and Oct. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hub.

Carol Crimi, senior staff attorney for student legal services, said the open clinic will help students learn how to seal a criminal record or make sure a license is in good standing.

Crimi said this service could especially benefit upperclassmen who may be applying for internships.

“We’re trying to make ourselves available,” Crimi said. “Part of our role is to be proactive.”

Crimi said students will be able to look up their records, receive brochures about the legal processes and schedule appointments with Student Legal Services if further services are needed.

Today’s clinic marks the first time an event of this nature has been held, Crimi said.

“I think it’s a unique idea,” she said.

Jonathan Bey, executive director of the Undergraduate Student Government, and Scott Sherwood, director for student advancement, also helped plan for the event starting in June.
