Ghostly apparitions and their stories are rich in Kent history, and this weekend storytellers will share the tales of Kent’s ghosts on the second annual downtown Ghost Walk.

The Ghost Walk runs from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday through the downtown business district and the historic residential area of West Main Street. Each site will feature a storyteller who will share local ghost lore. A tour guide will lead a group from the Kent Stage every 20 minutes on a journey through downtown, sharing some of Kent’s haunted history. The tour concludes after about an hour-and-a-half at Pufferbelly.

During last year’s inaugural Ghost Walk, attendees stopped at several sites, including the Masonic Temple, Universalist Unitarian Church of Kent and Ray’s Place.

This year’s journey, however, will explore new locations and new stories.

Richele Charlton, a member of the promotions committee for Main Street Kent, said the stops this year are being kept secret to keep them as mysterious as the tales themselves.

Tickets for the Ghost Walk are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets should be purchased in advance before attendees begin the walk, in order to properly schedule times. Tickets are available on Main Street Kent’s Web site, www.mainstreetkent.org, or at Woodsy’s Music and Spin-More Records downtown.
