Dick Morris, the man credited with Bill Clinton’s re-election victory in 1996, will speak about the upcoming presidential election at 7 p.m. today in Cartwright Hall.

The speech is free and open to the public.

“Given the situation of the election this fall, we decided we would just be doing something wrong if we don’t take this opportunity to address it and bring somebody who talks about it,” said Jonathan Bey, executive director of Undergraduate Student Government.

Morris was named “the most influential private citizen in America” by TIME Magazine. He worked for more than 30 winning campaigns for senators and governors, including Republican Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, and he wrote four books.

USG is working in cooperation with the Center for Student Involvement to sponsor the guest lecture series. Bey said he hopes to bring another speaker in the spring.
