Eastlake man pleads guilty to aggravated robbery charges
June 24, 2008
An Eastlake man pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery charges Monday.
Christopher M. Blecic was arrested for robbing a residence on University Drive with two other men in February. The suspects allegedly held the four Kent State students who lived there at gunpoint and robbed them.
Blecic pleaded to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony that can carry up to a $20,000 fine and 10 years in prison.
“He (Blecic) is very apologetic,” defense attorney Mark Marein said.
Sentencing will occur at a later date. Blecic is ordered to have no contact with his codefendants, any witnesses or the victims, which is part of his bond.
Josip Medved and Troy Midder, Blecic’s codefendants, have separate trials this summer. Medved’s pretrial is scheduled for Friday and Midder’s has no set date.
