Cash, a gun and video game consoles reported stolen at gunpoint in February robbery in Kent

Kent Police arrested a man Wednesday night in connection to a University Drive robbery in February, where students were allegedly forced at gunpoint to turn over their cell phones and money.

Josip Medved, 22, of Eastlake was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and kidnapping, a day after Kent police issued a warrant for his arrest, according to a Kent Police report.

Medved is currently being held on a $50,000 bond and is being charged with one count of aggravated robbery and at least one count of kidnapping. A preliminary hearing was set yesterday for March 21 at 9 a.m. at the Kent Municipal Court, according to Portage County court records.

The residents told police the night of the incident that three men came into the house armed with what looked like a shotgun and another with a baseball bat, according to a Kent State Police advisory FlashLine release. The suspects used a 12-gauge firearm during the robbery, according to the criminal case report.

Police were unavailable to comment on the status of the other two suspects.

Cash, a gun, a Nintendo Wii and two Xbox 360s were reported stolen in the robbery. Drugs and narcotic equipment were also seized from the house as evidence, according to the criminal case report.
