Elections for the newly formed Undergraduate Student Government will take place today and tomorrow. Students can log into FlashLine from 8 a.m. to midnight both days and vote for the 29 candidates vying for office.
Undergraduate Student Senate has spent much of the last year restructuring itself into USG. The new format of student government will contain 25 positions, but only 19 will appear on the ballot.
Katie Hale, current USS executive director, said students should take advantage of this recent student government expansion and vote.
“(Students) should know that a lot of hard work has gone into this to give them better representation,” Hale said.
Hale said she hopes USG will increase student interaction with campus government.
“This year can be the start of more people knowing about USG,” Hale said. “This is the time for students to start caring and vote. You should vote in this election for the same reasons you should vote in any election.”
