Final USG applications are due today
February 15, 2008
Applications for the Undergraduate Student Government election are due today at 5 p.m.
The Undergraduate Student Senate extended the deadline for applications in hopes to fill all the positions.
Katie Hale, USS executive director, said only 67 students picked up applications.
“It’s difficult because the number of them taken out is increasing, but they are not being turned in,” she said.
Hale said USS had received no applications for the senator for the College of Communication and Information and Undergraduate Studies senator positions.
The USS is considering putting a referendum on the March ballot to amend a small portion of their charter and make the Undergraduate Studies senator an appointed position instead of an elected one, Hale said.
All but two of the directors positions are uncontested.
If positions are not filled, USS will continue the election process and appoint someone as a last resort, Hale said.
The election is still scheduled for March 10 and 11.
