Members of Black United Students (BUS), who had just ended a sit-in with SDS protesting recruiters on campus from the Oakland Police Department, clash with a “protest foe” on November 13, 1968. BUS took over the lobby of the Job Placement Bureau in the Student Activities Center to protest the recruiters, who the students said were racist because of the way their department handled the Black Panthers in Oakland.
