International student party provides diversity

Both international and American students will have the opportunity to listen to diverse music at the International Party Night, which will be held tomorrow from 9:30 to 11 p.m. in Room 204 of the Student Center.

Nidal Ibourk, senior communication studies major and the event planner, said students will be exposed to modern music and dance from several ethnic backgrounds, including Arabic, Hispanic, Indian and American.

She also said another goal of the event is for students to meet new people.

“I wanted to create an opportunity for international students to get to know each other,” Ibourk said. “I feel like there are a lot of times where I’ll see a student and I’ll know they’re international, but I don’t know them. I hope this event will help change that.”

Beverages will be provided, and dress for the event is semi-formal.

Ibourk said more information can be found on the Facebook page for the event, which is listed as International Party Night.
