April 9, 2020
Women’s basketball sophomore guard Asiah Dingle announced Thursday afternoon on Twitter she will be transferring out of Kent State.
“Thank you to Kent State for giving me the opportunity to experience a great university,” Dingle said in a tweet. “I especially want to thank my coaches, teammates and lifelong friends for an amazing two years. After much thought with my family, I will be transferring and pursuing a new home.”
In her first season with the Flashes, Dingle started in 30 of 32 games she played and averaged 12.9 points and 2.9 assists per game.
This season, Dingle started in 15 of 28 games she played. Following a two-game suspension in the middle of the season, she transitioned to a bench player.
When she returned from her suspension, she scored in double-digits in eight straight games, giving the Flashes some offensive production off the bench.
Dingle averaged a team-leading 13.3 points per game and 3.6 assists per game during the season.
Her aggressive defense helped lead the Flashes to a Mid-American Conference East Division title this year. She averaged 2.1 steals on the season.
