Save the World to hold forum on race relations
October 1, 2007
Save the World will hold a forum on race relations tonight in light of recent events on campus and around the world.
Katie Dougans, president of the group, said topics will range from the “n-word” being spray-painted on a university sign to nooses being found on the University of Maryland College Park campus.
“We’re going to discuss how this is happening not only on our campus, but across the nation,” she said.
The forum will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Room 313 of the Student Center.
Julie Mazzei, assistant professor of political science, will lead the forum. Dougans said a number of other student groups have been invited, and any interested student or faculty member is encouraged to attend.
Dougans said the group is also planning an anti-racism demonstration for either later this week or next.
