Comedic quartet
October 4, 2007
Four comedians will perform tonight for Black United Students’ annual comedy show.
The show, beginning at 8 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom, is part of the weekend’s Homecoming festivities. BUS treasurer Chelsea Fuller said she hopes the show will be a lighter atmosphere after recent tensions on campus.
“I feel that it will give the Kent State community a way to relax,” Fuller said.
Nema Williams, Benji Brown, Kyle Grooms and Alex Thomas will be performing. Williams, Brown and Grooms have appeared on Black Entertainment Television’s ComicView. Grooms has also appeared on Chappelle’s Show, and Thomas’ lended his voice to Family Guy.
These comedians are part of the national Black Comedy Tour. Tickets are on sale at the M.A.C. ticket office and are $5 for students and $10 for non-students.
Fuller said while they have not hired extra security because of recent events, they will still have the normal campus security that is provided for all ballroom events, and ask them to “be a litte more secure.”
