Allocations Committee funds groups

Undergraduate Student Senate Allocations Committee provided money for lectures, comedy and hockey at Friday’s meeting: $41,971 total.
BUS received $25,510 for its Homecoming Comedy Show. The show will feature four comedians: Alex Thomas, Nema Williams, Benji Brown and Kyle Grooms. Detroit-based comedian Boogie will host the show. The event will be held Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
KSU Ice Hockey received $10,500 for its upcoming season.
College Republicans received $86 for a lecture called “Vets for Freedom at Kent State.” Veterans of the war in Iraq will speak about their experience in Iraq. The event will take place Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in the KIVA.
American Institute of Architecture Students and the College of Architecture and Environmental Design received $5,875 for a Tronic Studio lecture and gallery.
