Student gets prison time for Halloween accident
June 12, 2007
Nicholas Zajac was sentenced to six months in prison Monday in Portage County Common Pleas court.
The sentence comes seven months after the Halloween accident that left Dana Lim, a 26-year-old Parma resident, in a coma for three weeks after he was pushed into Lincoln Avenue and run over by a tow truck.
Judge John Enlow said that, as part of Zajac’s sentence, he will have to pay Lim’s medical bills, which the Akron Beacon Journal estimated at $40,000. Lim suffered multiple broken bones and internal injuries as a result of the accident.
Zajac pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in March.
