Women’s club lacrosse has a chilly but successful Sunday

Kent State women’s club lacrosse finished the regular season Sunday, losing to West Virginia University, 6-7, before beating Penn State Behrend, 12-4, and West Virginia Wesleyan College, 8-4.

Center Jenn Eyerman led the team with six goals for the day. Attack wing Missy Kudla followed with five goals of her own, and home Danielle Heideman scored four. Wings Angie McGrady and Nicole Cicchitti each scored three, and home Kaitlyn Costello scored twice.

Our fearless goalie, Liz Michalos, finished the day with 28 saves and five interceptions. Coverpoint Ashleigh Ress, homes Sarah Jacob and Costello, and wings Kudla and Cicchitti all had key assists. Our defense did an amazing job in the muddy, freezing conditions, holding the other teams to only 15 goals for the day.

We finished the regular season with an 8-3 record (8-1 in our division) and continue to the playoffs in Toledo next Saturday.
