Track to compete at Akron Quad
April 12, 2007
Not many teams have had success on the road at Akron, except Kent State. In one of the most thrilling meets of the indoor season, the men’s track and field team defeated the Zips Jan. 26 at Akron, 76-74. The men’s team also went to Akron and defeated the Zips at the MAC Championships, as the Flashes placed second and the Zips finished fifth.
However, Akron will look to avenge these performances as they host the 2007 Northeast Ohio Quad Meet Friday and Saturday at Lee Jackson Field.
In addition to Akron, the Flashes will also compete against Youngstown State and Division II opponent Ashland. The Flashes have enjoyed success against these intra-state foes, as the women’s team defeated Youngstown State Jan. 19 during the indoor season. And on Sunday, the women defeated Ashland in the throwing events at Cincinnati.
