Eagles Landing a possible nest to call home
March 5, 2007
Students looking for two-bedroom apartments close to campus might want to consider Eagles Landing apartments, located on Morris Road.
The apartment complex, just a few minutes walk from campus, includes a fitness center, laundry facilities, air conditioning, free parking, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a built-in microwave and discounted high-speed Internet.
“We also have a sand and volleyball court for use in the summer time,” said Assistant Manager Ashley Aullman. “We have security guards on Thursday through Friday, and also, they walk around on the weekend.”
Twenty-four-hour maintenance is on-call in case of emergencies and to provide a lock-out service for residents who have lost their keys.
“We have had a lot of things go wrong in our apartment,” said Christina Doyle, senior art education major. “But at the same time, I can’t complain because it’s so close to campus.”
One thing Doyle said she has found to be nice is that the parking lots are always snow-plowed, although people’s cars regularly get towed.
“Rent isn’t bad,” Doyle said. “So all in all, it’s been pretty good living here.”
Furnished apartments include a bedroom set, living room set and kitchen set; unfurnished apartments only include an oven, stove, refrigerator, microwave and window blinds.
Eagles Landing’s rent varies by lease type and apartment style:
• 12-month joint lease: furnished $770, unfurnished $695
• 12-month individual lease: furnished $405, unfurnished $365
• 12-month one-bedroom lease: furnished $625, unfurnished $550
• 9-month joint lease: furnished $925, unfurnished $850
• 9-month individual lease: furnished $495, unfurnished $450
• 9-month, one-bedroom lease: furnished $780, unfurnished $705
The application fee is $30, and security deposit prices vary by type of lease.
“Right now we are running a special – $299 for a joint lease, $150 for a individual lease,” Aullman said. “This is the total, not per person.”
Gas, water, trash, parking and amenities are all included in the cost of rent, Aullman said. Electric, phone and cable bills are not included.
“If someone comes in and doesn’t have a roommate, we can match them up,” Aullman said.
Cats are the only pets permitted in the apartments.
