Another strong defensive effort led the Kent State men’s basketball team to its fifth consecutive win on Saturday.

The Flashes held the Eastern Michigan Eagles to just 28 percent shooting in the 82-46 win.

While holding the Eagles to under 30 percent shooting, the Flashes shot 56 percent from the field and 61 percent from the perimeter. Kent State also forced 20 turnovers.

Freshman guard Chris Singletary led Kent State with a career-high 16 points. Sophomore center Julian Sullinger and senior guards Armon Gates and Omni Smith added 12 points apiece.

Sophomore guard Jordan Mincy had a career night with eight assists. As a team, the Flashes had 20 assists on 28 baskets.

Fan favorite Brandon Parks came off the bench to add a career-high nine points.
