First provost candidate visits campus today

Robert G. Frank, dean of the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida, is the first of four candidates for Kent State’s next senior vice president for academic affairs and provost to visit campus.

The first of four candidates for Kent State’s next senior vice president for academic affairs and provost is visiting campus today for the first time.
Robert G. Frank, dean of the College of Public Health and Health Professions at the University of Florida, flew in last night and is meeting with Provost Paul Gaston, the president’s cabinet and campus deans from 7:30 to 10 a.m.
He will tour the Honors College from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.
Frank will visit other parts of the Kent campus throughout the day, and will participate in an open faculty forum at 4 p.m. in the Kiva.
He will also be on campus tomorrow, visiting the Liquid Crystal Institute and interviewing with President Lester Lefton, among other things.
Frank will participate in an open forum for undergraduate students at 10:30 a.m. in the ballroom balcony in the Student Center. A graduate student open forum will be held directly after in Room 310.
The other three provost candidates will visit campus on these dates:
– Timothy J. Chandler, dean of the College of the Arts at Kent State: Jan. 29-30
– Elizabeth Langland, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Purchase College, SUNY: Feb. 1-2
– Walter Harris Jr., provost and vice president for academic affairs at Loyola University — New Orleans: Feb. 5-6
The provost’s office is responsible for academics at all campuses.
