New Web site offers learning opportunities
October 23, 2006
A new Kent State Web site is now available to provide access to additional lifelong learning opportunities.
The Web site, , was developed for those wanting to pursue their education and/or for employers wanting to further their employees training and developing, said Amy Lundstrom Lane, executive director of regional, corporate and community services.
“On the Web site, you can find programs and classes offered by all eight of Kent’s campuses,” she said. “All the programs are non-credit and for lifelong learning.”
Users can find programs for organizational development, continuous improvement, professional and career development, technology and personal enrichment.
“An employer might send an employee, to help enhance their job, to one of the programs,” she said. “A lot of companies are utilizing the programs for employee training.”
The Web site has been live for several weeks and has seen a lot of activity, Lane said.
“Most of the courses visited on the site you have to pay for,” she said. “A few are sponsored breakfast-type events.”
The site is, for the most part, aimed toward adult learners, but is also available for anyone aiming to further their education, she said.
