The Kent State aviation program honored Cartwright’s 15 years of support of the program by naming a new twin-engine Piper PA44 Seminole plane after her.
“This is the first time in our aviation program’s history that we have named a plane in our fleet after someone,” said Isaac Richmond Nettey, senior academic program director of aeronautics.
The aviation program will use the plane for flight education and training in a multi-engine aircraft, he said.
