Track and field competes for All-Ohio title

The men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete in the All-Ohio Championship this weekend to determine the best team in the state of Ohio.
The competition, held in Columbus, will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
At last year’s championship, the men’s team tied with Ohio for first place with 151 points, while the women’s team placed second with 109 points behind Buffalo. Both teams had six first-place finishes.
Senior Brent Shelby was named MAC Field Athlete of the Week after finishing first in the discus throw with a regional-qualifying throw of 172-4. He also placed fourth in the hammer throw with regional-qualifying 185-4.
Following the All-Ohio Championship, the Flashes will compete in the Sea Ray Relays April 12 to 15 in Knoxville, Tenn.
