University selling hall brick by brick
Who says you can’t take it with you? For $1, students, faculty and alumni can buy a brick from Terrace Hall before it is reduced to rubble.
Starting today through Sunday, Keith Ludwig, owner of Dynasty Deconstruction, is holding a furniture sale at Terrace Hall. The sale will continue again from 9 a.m. and until 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
The whole first floor of Terrace Hall will be filled with furniture. For those wanting a brick for a memento, they can place an order with Ludwig at the sale. Orders can also be placed by e-mailing him at [email protected] or calling him at (216) 408-6728.
“We’re selling chairs, beds, desks, refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and fire extinguishers,” Ludwig said. “Basically, anything in the building that people want, we’re selling.”
Prices marked on the furniture will vary, Ludwig said. Additional furniture will be brought over from Allerton Apartments G and H, which are also being torn down.
The sale is open to the public as well as contractors, Ludwig said. Contractors would be more interested in items such as lighting fixtures and marble.
Half of the profit made will go back to Kent State, Ludwig said.
Items that don’t sell won’t be thrown away. Ludwig said he’s contacted FEMA to give furniture to hurricane victims.
