The Kent State men’s and women’s track and field teams will be competing in the Mid-American Conference Championships today and tomorrow.

Sophomore LaVania Henderson and senior Kelly Braden lead the women in the field events. Henderson is No. 1 in the MAC in the shot put with a record of 51-02.75. Braden has the longest distance in the weight throw at 63-0.350.

Junior Andy Nicholas and senior Brent Shelby are leaders for men’s field events. Nicholas posted a record-breaking weight throw of 66-1.0. Shelby leads the team in the shot put with a high of 60-08.75. Both are ranked No. 2 in the MAC.
