Library to host lecture on terrorism
November 16, 2005
Students and faculty will have the opportunity to listen to two authors convey their views on terrorism at 4 p.m. tomorrow in room 204 of the Student Center.
Libraries and Media Services and the Kent State University Press are sponsoring the 2005 Borowitz Lecture titled “Two Perspectives on Terrorism.”
Albert Borowitz, founder of the Borowitz collection at the library and author of Terrorism for Self-Glorification: The Herostratos Syndrome, will be one of the speakers. The second speaker is Mary Habeck, professor of political science at John Hopkins University and author of Knowing the Enemy: Jihadist Ideology and the War on Terror.
“I thought it would be good to invite two authors to Kent State and address the issue of terrorism from slightly different perspectives,” said Mark Weber, dean of Libraries and Media Services.
There will also be a book signing by both authors following the program. The event is free and open to the public. For more information contact the libraries dean’s office at (330) 672-2962.
