Stark Campus combines costumes and ‘Rocky Horror’ for their Halloween Masquerade Dance
October 20, 2005
Kent State’s Stark Campus offers an option for students looking for a different Halloween experience.
The Stark Theatre Students Association will be sponsoring a Halloween Masquerade Dance at 7 p.m. tomorrow in the Kent Stark Campus Center.
“It’s going to be a huge shindig,” said Jason Mazan, a junior theater major and president of the organization. “Costumes are mandatory, and we’re hoping to get a lot of people.”
In addition to music and free food, there will be an audience participation version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with prop bags provided. Theater students will also perform Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart.”
The organization will give compact disc players as prizes for a costume contest, and a 13-inch color television as a door prize at the end of the night.
Tickets go on sale today at the Stark campus and will also be available at the door. Tickets are $5 for Kent Students and $6 otherwise. Proceeds from the event will go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
