The Kent State soccer team remains the No. 7 seed in the Mid-American Conference tournament after a tie with Buffalo.

The Flashes (8-8-3, 5-5-2 MAC) finished the regular season with a 0-0 tie at Buffalo ( 5-11-2, 3-7-1 MAC) Friday.

With a win, Kent State would have reached the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

In Friday’s game, the teams were evenly matched in many ways. Both had 12 shots, each goalkeeper had six saves, and each team had only one shot in both overtimes.

Individually, freshman Kristen Nelson was responsible for the team’s six saves, and sophomore Lisa Kurz led the Flashes with three shots.

Kent State led the battle of the corner kicks with a seven-to-zero advantage as well as fouls with an 18-14 difference.

The Flashes will now travel to Muncie, Ind. to face No. 2-seeded Ball State tomorrow in their first game of the MAC tournament.
