President Carol Cartwright, Kent State’s 10th president, has announced her decision to step down from the leadership position she has held for nearly 15 years.

Speaking this morning at a meeting with her cabinet, Cartwright said she will retire from the presidency upon the arrival of her successor, who will be chosen after a national search process that will be launched in the coming weeks.
