Interior design may be reaccredited
September 15, 2005
The interior design program is undergoing evaluations by the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research.
FIDER accredits post-secondary interior design education systems, and will be evaluating the university’s program to make sure they are “jumping the hurdle,” said Pamela Evans, interior design program coordinator.
A program can be accredited for three or six years. Kent’s interior design program has the six year accreditation, Evans reported.
A preliminary report will be made of FIDER’s measurements of the program. The report will be released Tuesday, Evans said. If it meets the standards they will remain an accredited institution.
