‘Taste of Kent State’ to showcase variety of food on campus
September 27, 2005
A “Taste of Kent State” will be available for all students, staff and faculty today.
Dining Services, along with Kent Student Center Programming, will be hosting the program from noon to 2 p.m. today at Risman Plaza. Samples from several on-campus diners will be available.
The goal of this event is to show the diversity of food offered around campus, said Eugene Walters, marketing manager of Dining Services.
“The two busiest locations on campus are the Hub and Eastway Cafe,” Walters said. “Rosie’s (Diner) is right up there as well.”
Walters said he hopes students will eat at different diners after tasting what they have to offer. On-campus diners that serve hot food will prepare two or three dishes for sampling.
“I think it will be a nice event,” Walters said. “Hopefully it will become an annual thing.”
Participating diners include: Rosie’s Diner, Prentice Cafe, Crustano’s, Stewart Cafe, Kent Market II, Eastway Cafe, Eastway Deli, Sunset Strips, Mein Bowl, Quizno’s Subs, A&W Restaurant, Pete’s Arena, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Jazzman’s and Ambrosia. Items from the Rathskeller’s bar menu will also be available.
