The Perfect Man
Starring Hilary Duff, Heather Locklear, Chris Noth
Rated PG for some mildly suggestive content
Directed by Mark Rosman
This summer’s most anticipated big-screen reunion isn’t Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. It’s Mark Rosman and Hilary Duff. The team from last summer’s flop A Cinderella Story regroups for Duff’s umpteenth attempt to establish herself as a bankable lead actress. This time around, Duff plays a girl saddled with the impossible feat of finding a man interested in Heather Locklear, who plays her single mother. Some mild suspense leading up to an inevitable conclusion is expected to ensue.
Howl’s Moving Castle
Featuring the voices of Christian Bale, Billy Crystal, Lauren Bacall, Blythe Danner, Will Friedle and Jena Malone
Rated PG for frightening images and brief mild language
Directed by Hayao Miyazaki
Showing exclusively at the Cedar Lee in Cleveland Heights
From Hayao Miyazaki, the Academy Award-winning director of Spirited Away, comes this critically lauded animated feature that could finally put the acclaimed Japanese director on the map. With a distribution deal from Disney and an all-star vocal cast (including Lauren Bacall as the Wicked Witch of the Waste), the director’s quirky brand of hand-drawn animation could finally strike a chord with mainstream American audiences.
