Athletes lip-sync at Jock Jams
April 12, 2005
The M.A.C. Center will be full of cheering fans in the stands and athletes performing on the court tonight.
This is not a game though — it is Jock Jams.
Jock Jams is an event in which the university’s 14 varsity athletic teams perform three- to five-minute lip-syncs and skits. Athletes will compete against each other at 8 p.m.
This year is the third annual Jock Jams to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Money is raised by a $2 admission fee, $1 donations from each athlete involved and donations from athletic department employees.
There will be a special half-time performance by Ethan Long, 10-year-old finalist for the greater Cleveland Guitarmageddon Contest. Long also performed the national anthem at several men’s basketball games this season.
Emceeing the event is Chris Scrilla, a locally renowned DJ, who also will perform that evening.
The event is open to the public, and children are encouraged to attend and stay after to meet Kent State athletes and Flash.
