Softball heads to Akron for weekend series

Kent State softball travels to Akron to face their Mid-American Conference rival for a three-game series this weekend.
The matchup begins tomorrow at 2 p.m. and ends Sunday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
The Flashes (20-20, 8-6 MAC) are coming off of a 1-0 win at Ball State Wednesday. The Flashes and Ball State were slated to compete in a doubleheader Wednesday, but thunderstorms ended the second game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Before the game was suspended, the Flashes led Ball State 5-3.
The Flashes lead Akron in the overall series, 49-39.
Akron (20-19, 4-11 MAC) played a doubleheader at Notre Dame yesterday. This weekend marks Akron’s last set of home games for the 2005 season.
After this weekend’s series, the Flashes travel to Ypsilanti, Mich., for a MAC doubleheader against Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
