Campaigning officially began Friday for students running for 2005-2006 Undergraduate Student Senate positions, but an official list of candidates is still unavailable.

A list has not been released because all the signatures on candidates’ petitions are still being verified, officials in the Office of Campus Life said.

Most of the candidates took advantage of the basketball game Saturday to begin their campaigns, despite the possibility of their eligibility being challenged.

The Office of Campus Life expects to have the official list posted by the close of the business day today.

Students can access the unofficial list at the USS Web site at http://www.uss.kent.edu/election/. The official list will be posted when it is available.
