In yesterday’s article “Intro English requirements subject to change for Fall 2006” the proposed changes to the freshman requirements were inaccurate.

Only entering students requiring a lower-level class will take the year-long College Writing I, a six credit hour course.

Most freshmen will take a semester-long, four credit hour course either the first or second semester of their freshman year.

Then, in their sophomore year, students will complete the writing program with another four credit hour, semester-long course.

The year-long honors colloquium will not change.
